Arkeon Technologies Raises Seed Round Led by Chalmers Ventures to Fix Quantum Chip Yield

(NEW YORK)–Swedish DeepTech startup Arkeon Technologies has closed a 6.5 million SEK (approximately $691K USD) seed round to advance its post-fabrication precision engineering solutions for superconducting quantum computing. The round was led by Chalmers Ventures, with participation from Navigare Ventures and Almi Invest. Founded in 2025 by Peter Hörstedt, Andreas Nylander, and Marcus Rommel, the Gothenburg-based company is targeting one of the most underappreciated bottlenecks in the quantum hardware stack.

The core problem: superconducting qubits rely on extremely precise manufacturing processes, and even small variations introduced during fabrication can alter the operating frequencies of individual qubits, reducing processor performance and lowering manufacturing yields.

Arkeon’s fix is elegant. By adjusting the resistance of Josephson junctions at room temperature after manufacturing, the company allows each qubit to meet precise frequency specifications — significantly increasing chip yield and reducing costly waste. More specifically, Arkeon drives controlled current pulse-trains through the junction barrier to adjust junction resistance, tighten frequency placement, and improve wafer-level yield.

The company reports letters of intent and a pipeline of roughly 30 potential customers, signaling real commercial pull. The capital will fund international customer validation, deployment pipeline expansion, and refinement of its chip-tuning methodologies for commercial foundries.

Why watch Arkeon? The quantum industry’s scaling narrative has fixated on qubit count, but repeatability is the real gating factor. A post-fabrication tuning layer that salvages otherwise-discarded chips doesn’t just cut costs — it could become standard infrastructure for every superconducting hardware vendor. Arkeon won both Startup of the Year and Game Changer at Venture Cup Sweden 2025, and the seed investors backing it are deeply embedded in the Nordic deep-tech ecosystem. This is early, but it’s the right problem.

From Quantum Meow vantage point tracking early stage quantum infrastructure, this is where capital is quietly concentrating. Scaling quantum hardware is less about qubit count headlines and more about repeatable manufacturing control. Without yield improvements, roadmap promises stall.
