(NEW YORK) — Quantum Computing Inc. (Nasdaq: QUBT) said it has received a purchase order and entered into a framework agreement with Planck Dynamics, a portfolio company of Netherlands-based defense technology investment firm NUNC Capital BV, to deploy its NeuraWave photonic reservoir computer as a platform for next-generation AI applications.
Under the agreement, Planck Dynamics placed an initial order for five NeuraWave systems, with delivery expected in 2026. The framework also creates a pathway for scaled deployment of up to 100 systems, with a potential aggregate program value exceeding $10 million, although future orders depend on milestone achievement and other customary conditions.
QCi said NeuraWave is designed for photonic reservoir computing workloads at the network edge, where low latency and low power use matter most. Planck Dynamics said it plans to use the systems as part of its RAPTR platform for tactical and defense-adjacent applications.
The announcement adds to momentum around quantum and photonics commercialization, but it should be viewed in context: recent federal CHIPS and Science Act incentives announced by the Department of Commerce total $2.013 billion and are directed to a portfolio of seven quantum computing companies and two quantum foundry firms, including IBM, GlobalFoundries, Atom Computing, Diraq, D-Wave, Infleqtion, PsiQuantum, Quantinuum, and Rigetti — not QUBT.
Quantum Meow Insight: The Planck Dynamics agreement is a meaningful commercial step for QCi because it moves NeuraWave closer to operational deployment, but the deal remains milestone-dependent and should not be treated as a guaranteed $10 million-plus contract.
